Description
Primarily produced by fetal liver cells, AFP can be elevated in adults with liver cancer or testicular cancer. During pregnancy, abnormal levels may indicate fetal neural tube defects.
This test checks for liver cancer, testicular cancer, and fetal neural tube defects during pregnancy.
